There are many ways to be an environmentalist, and Gary Pepe – olive farmer and the owner of NuOlinda Olive Oil – is trying his best to embrace the ones that are good for both the environment and his bottom line.
Pepe has about 20 acres of Olive Trees in Happy Valley, California and has been pressing olive oil the old fashioned way for the past 11 years. You may have seen him at one of our regional farmers markets, selling organic unfiltered olive oil and talking you into trying his spicy green olives. If you have, he has probably talked to you about another one of his interests – alternative sources of fuel.
